Halocharts 40A vs. Gunslingers?
« on: Jun. 18, 2010, 5:27 PM »
1.  Set your Team:
Unfortunately, I cannot set an exact team without a set date, but I can tell you to expect a cadre of generals.  Hopefully for an 8v8 game.   Halocharts 40A does have a minimum level of 40 requirement, and we do have some players with a ridiculous amount of talent like l Yankee l, Surpriser, ZK Hawkeye, RippinHeads, and Vetoed.  You shouldn't expect to face all of them at once, but I'm sure a couple of those will sign up along with weaker players like myself (45).  We'd prefer you field the best you can assemble, and it should be a challenging game for both sides.

2.  Select A Gametype:
We would like Multi-flag Valhalla, standard BTB format.

3. Date:
I'm thinking Saturday, July 31st.  Again, once this is nailed down, setting a concrete roster would be easier.

Etc:
Sorry to not follow exact protocol, but it has been quite a while since I have seen gunslingers in MM, and figured it would be better to get a date when you can play first.  We have a very active group, and arranging a team of 8 usually takes around 4 hours.  I'm confident we can field a team whatever date works for you.

We are looking for a challenging, competitive game, but more importantly, we want the two communities to get together for some fun in the waning days of Halo 3.  I'd also like to invite participants to hang around for a mixer, and possibly a simultaneous casual match to accommodate those that aren't that interested in a high-level contest.  We're open for whatever you want to put together.  We're not looking to conquer anyone or bragging rights, we are looking to have a good time with other communities.

We accept!

I would love to know a little more about Halo Charts.

Saturday night?  Or Saturday afternoon?  We are not likely to be able to do prime time on a Saturday.  Wives and stuff.

Monday and Wednesday nights seem to be busy for our Halo Loyalists.  You game then?

Way to go Obi! Just for those who don't know Obi is in charge of finding events for the 40A to play in and this is a great Idea. I would love to meet/play the gunslingers and this would be an awesome night of intense fun.

I myself am a member of 40A and if this happens expect me to be in there for the battle.

Side note. If this happens I may be able to arrange a game against the comp team as well. We are currently trying to fill our schedule with scrims/challenges.

Lets see where this goes first before I get too excited but hopefully this happens.

Good Job on showing initiative Obi! You da man!

The only real restriction we have is week days during normal work hours, as 40A also tends to be an older crowd (by video game standards).  If you are good with Saturday night, I think that would be best, so those that don't have other commitments can hang around and play a while.  But whatever day/time your crew is more comfortable with will be fine.  Pick a date and time somewhere in the vicinity of July 31st, and it will be a very manly date.

I suppose you don't get to know much about 40A just by looking at the restricted access home page.  It is Boss Vos' brainchild, and it is home for an active group of skilled players.  The group has monthly group nights, as well as special events and challenges to give players something different to look forward to.  As maybe XerxDeeJ knows, I've been a part of many Halo communities.  I have been choosing to call 40A my home for some time now because the group also demands a high standard of conduct from it's players that I have found lacking in other communities.   40A strictly enforces a no cheating, no boosting, and no griefing policy.  It's a great group of guys and gals to play with, and a good place to find plenty of solid teammates.   It's a gathering place for players looking to find others in their skill range that value a good, clean game.  40A also has a sister group, 35 & below (technically 39 and below), founded with the same principles, but for players in the lower rank ranges.

So you guys are ranked 40 and above?

Sounds like we need to assemble our A-team to put up a fight.

I will see if July 31st works for us.  Weeknights tend to be our best time, but we might be able to swing a Saturday.  What time?

Additional question:  What sort of match are we playing?  8v8?  6v6?  How many Gunslingers we gotta wrangle into a posse?

Whatever works best for you guys, we can do any weekday after 5PM PST, and can swing any time in the weekend.  So far, I've been scheduling everything for Saturdays at 6PM PST.  If Sat the 31st, 6 PM PST works for you guys, that would be great, otherwise, let me know if you have a something that would work better for you.  Also, yes, we are looking for 8v8.

PS.  I was thinking a game of Red Dead Revolver would fit perfectly into your Gunslinger motif.  Do you guys play RDR?

With you Obi? Sure. How about dinner and a movie? I have yet to see the new Twilight. What say ye?

All kidding aside, we are still discussing dates and times with the interested gunslingers.

Can't go wrong with slayer on Avalanche or Standoff.  If we can avoid Sand Trap and High Ground, we'd be happy.
